About this tour

Guatapé and El Peñol are usually seen from a shared tourist bus, on somebody else's schedule. This tour flips that: a private, air-conditioned car that's yours for the day, picking you up right at your hotel and taking you through the Alto del Chocho viewpoint, the base of El Peñol rock, and the colorful streets of Guatapé, at whatever pace your group wants.

Climbing El Peñol's steps and getting out on the water (jetski, boat or helicopter) are both optional and paid separately — we're happy to help you arrange either one, but we'd rather tell you that upfront than bury it in fine print.

Itinerary

  2. Alto del Chocho

    A panoramic stop for the first photos of the reservoir and the eastern Antioquia mountains.

  3. El Peñol rock

    Time at the base of the rock; climbing its steps is paid separately at the entrance.

  4. Town of Guatapé

    Free walk through the colorful zócalos and Guatapé's main church.

  5. Free time by the reservoir

    Time to eat on your own or, if you like, arrange jetski, a boat or a helicopter (cost separate).

  6. Return to Medellín
